John Eliasch als FIS-Präsident bestätigt
John Eliasch ist auf dem Kongress des Weltverbandes FIS in Mailand als Präsident bestätigt worden. Der Amtsinhaber erhielt 70 von 116 abgegebenen Stimmen. Allerdings hatten zahlreiche Nationen ihre Ablehnung des Wahlvorganges durch Verlassen des Sitzungssaales zum Ausdruck gebracht. Neu gewählt wurde auch der Rat der FIS, zudem beschloss der Kongress einige Änderungen. So wird Skifliegen der Frauen ins Programm aufgenommen. Bei den Langläufern wurde beschlossen, dass Männer und Frauen künftig über die gleichen Distanzen starten werden. Verabschiedet wurden auch die Weltcup-Kalender für die Saison 2022/23. Die Nordische Ski WM 2027 wurde nach Falun/Schweden vergeben.

John Eliasch was confirmed as President at the Congress of the World Federation FIS in Milan. The incumbent received 70 of the 116 votes cast. However, many nations had expressed their opposition to the electoral process by leaving the meeting room. The Council of the FIS was also newly elected, and the Congress also decided on some changes. Thus, women’s ski flying is included in the program. In the case of cross-country skiers, it was decided that men and women will start over the same distances in the future. The World Cup calendars for the 2022/23 season were also adopted. The 2027 Nordic World Ski Championship was given to Falun/Sweden.
